![[Pasted image 20240511123542.png]] 1. **Less Wrong Gradually.** As we evolve and grow quickly, we’re mostly going to be wrong initially. This is fine as long as we are aware and work towards being less wrong over time. 2. **Velocity matters.** We need momentum over perfection. Good enough works as long as we are tightly aligned on the direction of travel. 3. **Autonomy Zones.** Ownership and freedom in clearly defined zones of influence and competence, to ensure you thrive. 4. **Over-communication is needed.** Being remote necessitates over communication, to connect, build relationships and co-ordinate. 5. **State priming is helpful.** Making clear what the purpose of a meeting is and the particular capacity/ mindset contributors should have is beneficial for constructive discussions.  6. **Change drives progress.** Speak up, if something is not working/ if you are not adding value b/c you are being wrongly utilised/incorrectly positioned. 7. **Failure comes from the inability to imagine Failure.** Volatility and unpredictability impact things and we can handle it by either predicting/preparing for it. 8. **Success is a lagging indicator, it takes time.** Pay attention to the inputs, their quality, consistency, rationality & focus. Progress periods will be more like ’step functions’. 9. **Mask newness, change in tradition.** Embrace the old, while peddling the new. Reducing switching costs, friction, lowering barrier to entry is the name of the game. 10. **[[Commercialising deep tech early is uncomfortable though essential]].** It increases our surface area/exposure for upside optionality, where we can benefit from serendipity and randomness. Sometimes the excess/superfluous seems unnecessary but leads to combinatorial fodder for the future. Impostor syndrome is normal, though has to be balanced with truth and specificity that ensures delivery and the right expectation setting. 11. **Messaging matters & drives differentiation too.** It helps communicate the value prop to the customer, clarifying the problem we are solving for them. Messaging is a forcing function, that has natural brevity constraints to help us simplify and figure it out too. 12. **Users & Buyers are different.** Align with the customers on the value, get agreement and then there can be alignment on price too. 13. **Think about defensibility & power, but gradually.** First get to product market fit, could be with Cornered Resources and counter positioning, then we tweak and build. 14. **Ask What Sucks? & Amazing for few.** You can invent new things here and creating compelling value for a select few. Lead with a clear thesis and value proposition to showcase how what you offer is Superior, Significant and Sustainable. 15. **Superior, Significant and Sustainable.** 16. **Belief x Passion**: Let intellectual curiosity to guide you and conviction to drive you through hard periods which require resilience and persistence to will opportunities into being. 17. **Uncertainty is unavoidable, deal with it.** Structure and Systemisation can help us contain it, reduce obscurity and make things less ambiguous. However, we have become comfortable with navigating in the dark, till we find the light. 18. **Fluid focus**. A company that does not change will eventually die. You want to build in focus and stability while leaving room for experimentation. There are phases of “exploration” chapters (prioritise trying out new approaches) and “exploitation” chapters (making the most of your best ones). ![[Pasted image 20240511123555.png]] Related: [[First Principles and Mental Models MoC]] | [[Venture Building Manifesto]] [[7 Powers]] | [[Hiring Questions]]
